X-ray diagnostics

Parodent offers comprehensive treatment of dental and periodontal conditions. We are equipped with advanced diagnostic tools such as digital X-ray and computed tomography. We perform imaging diagnostics to obtain detailed views of the oral cavity and bone structures. Thanks to X-ray imaging, the assessment of dental health is more precise, allowing dentists to develop an optimal and individualized treatment plan.

Medical Xray of teeth

X-ray examination in dentistry

An essential element of dental diagnostics is dental X-ray imaging, which uses X-rays to visualize the condition and structure of the teeth as well as the surrounding tissues.

Dental X-ray examinations include:

Periapical X-ray – shows a single selected tooth together with its root. A periapical image is recommended in cases of tooth decay, inflammatory changes, and prior to tooth extraction. Dentists also refer patients for this type of X-ray before root canal treatment.

Panoramic X-ray – the so-called panoramic image (orthopantomogram) of the oral cavity, providing a view of the upper and lower jaws, temporomandibular joints, and maxillary sinuses. It is used when planning orthodontic, prosthetic, or implant treatment, as well as when a fractured instrument is suspected.

We also perform digital X-ray imaging using radiovisiography (RVG). For the patient, the examination is carried out in the same way; the main difference lies in the data format. Traditional X-rays are based on film, whereas RVG results are digital.

Another option is cephalometric X-ray, which plays an important role in orthodontics. It provides dentists with information about the spatial relationships between the skull bones, the maxilla, and the mandible.

Computed tomography – when is it used?

Our services include computed tomography (CBCT). Unlike standard dental X-rays, it provides a three-dimensional image with a much higher level of detail. It allows visualization of both bone structures and soft tissues. This enables the dentist to detect even minor pathological changes and initiate appropriate treatment.

CT scans are prescribed by a doctor prior to implantology, endodontic treatment, or maxillofacial surgery. A specialist may also recommend this examination when a patient reports severe pain in the temporomandibular joints.

Dental diagnostics at Parodent

Thanks to the advanced equipment in our radiology department, we are able to perform both conservative dental procedures and complex surgical operations within the maxilla and mandible. Dental diagnostics using ionizing radiation is fast and painless; it allows us to detect changes that are not visible to the naked eye and facilitates the selection of the most appropriate treatment method. In addition to the highest clinical standards, our staff ensures patient comfort and safety at every stage.
