Implantology at Parodent

Implantology plays a key role in the services offered by our dental clinic. Thanks to it, we help patients who have experienced significant tooth loss. We can replace a single missing tooth or restore the aesthetics of the smile in fully edentulous patients. Implant treatment is performed under local anesthesia, and in special cases, under general anesthesia.

What are dental implants?

A dental implant is a screw—most often made of titanium—that replaces the tooth root. Implantology procedures are performed when a patient has one or more missing teeth. They are usually carried out after the removal of a tooth destroyed by disease or following a mechanical injury (such as a fracture or crack).

Implant treatment should be initiated as soon as possible to prevent bone loss in the upper or lower jaw.

Dental implant placement – what does the procedure look like?

Before implantation, every patient undergoes thorough diagnostics. We use computed tomography and 3D scanning, which replaces traditional impressions. This allows the implantologist to assess the condition of the teeth, the amount of bone tissue, and to plan the entire treatment process precisely. The system also facilitates the design and fabrication of the prosthetic restoration.

To qualify for implant placement, the patient must be in good general health. If bone loss has occurred, the dentist may recommend preparatory procedures such as sinus lift surgery or bone grafting.
The implant itself is placed in the site of the extracted tooth using a specialized drill. After healing, a prosthetic crown is mounted on the implant; in cases of larger gaps, a prosthetic bridge is used.

Advantages of implant treatment

Dental implants are a form of prosthetic reconstruction that replaces natural teeth. We recommend them for patients after tooth extraction as well as for those with larger gaps in the dentition. They provide a natural appearance and restore full functionality of the teeth.

Contraindications for dental implants

The most common contraindications to implant treatment include:

  • pregnancy,

  • uncontrolled diabetes,

  • osteoporosis,

  • cancer,

  • rheumatic diseases,

  • disorders associated with reduced blood clotting.

Implantology at the Parodent clinic

Modern implantology allows us to restore a beautiful smile for patients with partial or complete tooth loss. We replace one or multiple missing teeth by placing a crown or a prosthetic bridge for those who do not want a removable denture. Patients interested in this form of prosthetic reconstruction are welcome to schedule a consultation with our implantologist.
