Dental Surgery at Parodent

Modern dentistry focuses on procedures that preserve natural teeth and prevent extraction whenever possible. At our clinic, specialists perform a wide range of treatments aimed at saving the patient’s natural dentition. Procedures such as tooth extraction are carried out only when absolutely necessary—when damage is too extensive or when extraction is part of an orthodontic treatment plan.

What does dental surgery include?

As part of dental surgery, we provide procedures aimed at removing pathological lesions (such as abscesses, cysts, fistulas, etc.) as well as restoring dentition. We perform reconstructive procedures following injuries or tooth extractions.

Surgical treatment also includes periodontology, which focuses on the treatment of diseases of the periodontium and the oral mucosa. Patients visit our clinic with conditions such as periodontitis, gingivitis, or pathological changes affecting the lips, cheeks, or tongue.

Surgical removal of wisdom teeth

In certain cases, surgical tooth extraction is necessary. This applies, among others, to the removal of impacted wisdom teeth that have erupted too late and lack sufficient space in the dental arch. They may erupt in an incorrect position or alignment, putting pressure on neighboring healthy teeth.

In addition to extracting fully or partially impacted wisdom teeth, we also perform apicoectomies (root apex resections) and hemisections. These surgical procedures involve removing part of a tooth (dead or infected tissue) and preparing the area for reconstruction. They are recommended when there is a risk of recurrent inflammation or when root canal treatment has proven ineffective.

Dental implant placement

Dental surgery includes preparing the oral cavity for implant placement. If the amount of bone in the maxilla or mandible is insufficient for an implant, the dentist may recommend surgical procedures such as sinus lift surgery or guided bone regeneration.

All surgical procedures are preceded by diagnostic examinations. Depending on the individual needs, this may include a panoramic X-ray, computed tomography, or other imaging tests.
